Henry Holt recently offered Alison a contract on her new novel, CROWDING THE PAN about a girl in high school whose father is a gourmet chef on TV. The novel for older readers will be out in 2009.

THE BATS ON THE BUS,  a new picture book for Halloween that's a take-off on the popular song, "The Wheels on the Bus", is going to be published by Dutton in 2008 or 2009.

Walker Books has purchased a picture book, due out in 2009. Entitled DESERT ROSE, it is a take-off on the traditional tale of "The Old Woman and Her Pig", but with a Texas twang. Keith Graves has been chosen to do the illustrations.

A sequel to IF THE SHOE FITS, entitled WHEN THE WIND BLEW, has been purchased by Henry Holt and will be out in 2010.
